Management of Mozambique

Andrew started his career with IGI Insurance Company in South Africa as management trainee in 1988.
He moved to IGI Botswana in 1990. In 1991 he left Botswana and moved to England where he attended the CII College of Insurance, qualifying with an ACII.
After completing his studies, Andrew worked in the London Market firstly as a London market underwriter and then as a director of a Lloyd's Broking firm.
After six years in the London market, Andrew left England and returned to South Africa to start the Baronscourt Group.
Andrew is currently a Managing Director of the Baronscourt Group, Global Alliance CGSM Mozambique, GA Angola Seguros and a Director of Kindle Insurance Technologies.

Ruan started his insurance career in April 1999 at Santam in the claims department. He was promoted to 2IC of his section/team in November 2001 till February 2002. In January 2003, Ruan joined Mont Blanc Financial Services as Claims Manager and in May 2006 he joined Wilkruin Investigations where he did Stolen Vehicle investigations for Santam. In November 2006 he was appointed as the National Risk Manager for Europcar. He joined Global Alliance in June 2007 as the Claims Manager for the Mozambique region and is currently the Assistant General Manager.

Allister is a Certified Financial Planner and has been involved in financial services for over 20 years. He completed his articles of clerkship (accounting) in Cape Town in 1989 and then joined Norwich Life where he gained extensive experience and success in Broker Services as a Broker Consultant and then as Regional Head of Broker Services in Gauteng for Syfrets. Thereafter, he spent several years with Alexander Forbes, first as an individual Wealth Manager, consulting to high net worth individuals, and then as the coastal manager, consulting to trustees of retirement funds and rolling out financial planning and education initiatives for the members of those funds in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Natal provinces. In addition, Allister published and edited a quarterly financial news letter for national distribution to members of retirement funds and individual clients. Allister is well positioned to continue the Group Schemes initiative for Global Alliance and its clients..

Cláudio completed an Accounting course at Commercial Institute of Maputo in 2000 and is now completing his studies in Management of Companies at Eduardo Mondlane University in Maputo. In 2000 he started working as an accounts clerk at Facobol SARL and in 2002 he joined the PEPKOR Group as an accounting clerk and later as the Assistant to the Financial Manager. In 2005 he joined Sentratek Lda and was Financial Controller. In March 2006 he joined Global Alliance as an accountant.

Louis started his career in Insurance in 1996 with Santam Insurance Company in South Africa as an Underwriting Clerk. He was promoted in 1998 to a Junior Broker Consultant. He was promoted in 2001 to a Senior Broker Consultant. He moved to Johannesburg in 2004 and joined Regent Insurance Company as an Account Executive where he was responsible for the insurance of the Imperial Group`s Leasing Division. He also serviced and maintained the Fleet Account of the South African Government. He completed his Programme in Advanced Insurance Practice through Unisa in 2009. He joined Global Alliance in 2007 as an Underwriting Manager and is currently the General Manager for Global Alliance Seguros – Insurance in Mozambique.

Penny started her insurance career at Santam Corporate Houghton, Johannesburg in 1997 as a Underwriting clerk/processor. In 2000 she was promoted to Senior Service consultant of Santam commercial Illovo. Penelope has completed COP, is busy with ACII (1 subject to be completed). She has also done the National Certificate in Short Term Insurance through Inseta. Penelope started at GA on 1 June 2008 as Admin Manager.

Hilton studied Economics and Management at Port Elizabeth University, started his career with Global Alliance Mozambique in 2004 as Credit Control Technician and is furthering his studies at Sao Tomas University in Economics and Management. He is heading up the Credit Control Department as assistant to the financial manager.
