Accounts – Job Description
  • Screening & distribution of incoming mail.
  • Working Knowledge of Accpac.
  • Short Term Insurance Experience.
  • Cash books – Trial balance
  • Compilation of Financial statements, Income statement and Balance Sheet.
  • Foreign exchange accounting and reporting.
  • Cash Flow Reporting.
  • Monthly reporting.
  • Year end reporting.
  • Compiling, reviewing and analysing budgets.
  • Handling and working with the Auditors.
  • Liaising with head office on a daily basis.
  • Cheque Signatory.
  • Claims Settlements.
  • Reinsurance Settlements.
  • Dealing with the Reserve Bank.
  • Dealing with the banks, negotiating bank charge rates and interest rates.
  • Statutory register and maintenance there of.
  • Implementing and monitoring of internal controls.
  • Payroll runs, statutory reporting and payment of all taxes and related payroll expenses.
  • Maintenance of HR records.
  • Monitoring of Leave and enforcing of the company leave policy.
  • Learning the laws of the country in as far as Company Law, the related taxation laws, and foreign exchange controls and laws.
  • Ability to learn and operate our Insurance system – KIT.
  • Handle recoveries in conjunction with the claims department.
  • Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Monthly Management presentations to management, analysing the previous month, comparisons to budget and the compilation of the underwriting results for the month and year to date.
  • Ability to liaise with the IT manager or outsource company to help solve IT related problems.
  • Internet Banking.
  • Monitoring Credit Control, assisting where required and reporting to management Debtors over 60 days.
  • Obtaining quotes for supplies and submitting for approval.
  • Settling Trade Creditors on approval.
  • Knowledge of crystal reporting would be advantageous but not a requirement.
